MOSCOW, Feb 19 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross wheat harvest may rise by 3–5% on the year in 2020, First Deputy Agriculture Minister Dzhambulat Khatuov told reporters on Wednesday.
“Last year the wheat growth amounted to 3%. We believe that the rate of 3–5% should be maintained… We have announced a 3–5% rise on the year, and all of us will work on the task… We are waiting for spring sowing to finish, and will (elaborate the forecast) basing on the information,” he said.
In 2019, Russia harvested 73.4 million tonnes of grain, according to preliminary assessment.
